Day 6, 12 PM - 1 PM (Episode 7)

- The show opens with one of the its most nonsensical conversations ever, and for "24", that's saying a lot. The President is rightfully suspect of Karen's motives for resigning, and Tom is clearly not being forthright. Palmer figures that much, because he's not a total moron. Tom referring to her as a "worthy adversary" seems kinda stupid right there. I can understand political parties referring to each other that way, but if two members of your cabinet (well, we don't really know what Tom is - maybe he's Minority Whip or something) see each other as adversaries, you've got bigger problems. Tom then claims that maybe she resigned because he was planning to resubmit his proposed executive order! Yes, yes, that makes perfect sense. Well, it does to Palmer, or he has the attention span of a cocker spaniel puppy, because he completely forgets about Karen. I guess Tom's smarter than I thought.

- Graeme says it's his job to worry, but he clearly doesn't worry enough. He's gotta know that his brother, Jack, is the bestest agent ever to exist. I can understand not wanting to shoot him in broad daylight, but maybe the plan should have been to shoot him as soon as they get to the spot they wanted to execute him at, instead of this elaborate method of having him kneel before a hole in the ground. What are they going to do next, use some sort of device that the Joker from the old Batman TV series would devise? The Pit and the Pendulum? Sharks with friggin' laser beams?

- "Daaaad! Don't shoot the last remaining bad guy! I needed to question him! Darn it! You always ruin everything! " "Sorry, son, I wasn't thinking. Oops! "

- How can CTU happen to intercept the McCarthy-Fayed call, but hardly any other communications? They aren't talking on some encrypted line? And, presumably, McCarthy sent the "Curriculum Vitae" of the replacement nuclear missile armer to Fayed's screen (just like at CTU!) over the internet so it couldn't be intercepted, but CTU got that too. The terrorists are really slacking off.

- One of the coolest things about CTU is that they have mobile interrogation kits. Where can I get one of those? Brookstone?

- It'll take Chloe half an hour to figure out what Morris has done? He's only been working on his program for like 10 minutes! Maybe she should just start from scratch. Or, maybe CTU workers should stop spending time combing the lists of injured people looking for relatives of their worker so they can debate whether or not to tell them bad news.

- Wayne Palmer is like the anti-Bush. Bush never changes his mind; Wayne changes his mind depending on which way the breeze blows. If you want to convince the President of something, just make sure that you're the last one to talk to him.
